Mobility and Stretching for Everyday Movement
Strength gets the attention, but mobility is what keeps you moving comfortably through daily life.
Mobility is your ability to move your joints through their full range with control. Modern life — lots of sitting, lots of screens — tends to leave hips, shoulders, and the upper back stiff. A little regular attention keeps everyday movements like reaching, bending, and twisting easy and pain-free.
A gentle daily routine
- Open your hips with slow lunges and gentle hip circles.
- Free up your upper back with seated or standing rotations.
- Mobilize your shoulders with slow arm circles and doorway stretches.
- Loosen your ankles and calves, especially if you sit a lot.
Consistency over intensity
A few minutes most days does more than a long stretching session once a week. Tack it onto something you already do — a few movements after you wake up, or a stretch break between tasks — and your body will thank you with easier, more comfortable movement.
